As a modern, international campus dedicated to innovation in both design and facilities, Shenzhen Loop Area Institute partnered with HECOR pod to enhance its teaching environment through professional office pods. The transformation of old warehouse structures, integrated with these soundproof booths, preserves a sense of historical context while incorporating modern educational spaces, providing students with an exceptional learning atmosphere.
The Modern School Library: More Than Just Quiet Study
As a forward-thinking institution in AI education, Shenzhen Loop Area Institute holds unique perspectives on the evolution of educational models:
1.The Shift in Learning Modes: From "Silent Reading" to "Multimodal Learning"
Past: Physical books + handwritten notes. Staying quiet simply meant "no talking."
Present: Micro-lectures, Zoom group discussions, AI-powered speaking practice, live-coding review sessions…
Students are now often watching screens while recording, screen-capturing, and speaking. "Audio-involved learning" accounts for over 60% of library activities.
2.The Accelerated Pace of Research: From "Long Cycles" to "Instant Output"
Joint Shenzhen-Hong Kong programs, 24-hour online roadshows, and impromptu international meetings have compressed research output timelines from "weeks" down to "hours."
The library's traditional "discussion rooms" involved lengthy booking processes and occupied significant space. In contrast, HECOR's soundproof booths are compact, flexible, and enable instant meetings within a minute, making "flash research presentations" a reality.
3.Evolving Space Ethics: From "Managing Users" to "Empowering Users"
Traditional Approach: Posting "Quiet Please" signs, increasing patrols, installing more cameras – using rules to enforce behavior.
The HECOR pod Solution: Our office pods transform "quiet" into a bookable, movable, and quantifiable resource – using product design to liberate management.
This shift allows users to move from being "managed" to self-managing, enabling the library to truly return to its core role: knowledge service.
Guided by this vision, HECOR pod conducted an on-site analysis of the library's layout and needs. We deployed several ZUM Model S office pods across various zones within the project to fully meet the diverse requirements of faculty and students.
